The Electric Car Corporation's all-electric Citroën conversion, the C1 ev’ie, took part in the 2009 Eco-rally. The event, which was held on Monday 8th June, saw a parade of environmentally conscious vehicles take to the streets with the finishing line at London’s City Hall. Mayor Boris Johnson, a supporter of electric vehicles, welcomed the participating models.
The C1 ev’ie was driven by legendary racing driver John Surtees, who is the only person to have won World Championships on both two and four wheels and was accompanied by David Martell, Chief Executive of the Electric Car Corporation.
Boris spent time talking to John Surtees about the ev'ie and was impressed that it was already on sale as many of the other cars participating were concepts. Photos of the event can be found below.
